Joining a local cycling club will open up a whole new world – new friends, new rides, new places to go.

Find the right group for you – there’s plenty of choice!


Leisure riding

You’ll find new places and routes to ride, from short rides for beginners to long rides for more experienced riders or faster sport rides for enthusiasts.

Avon Outdoor Activities Club (AOAC) – multi-activity outdoor pursuits club in Bristol with about 400 members

Bath CTC – independent national cycling charity which aims to inspire and help people to cycle and keep cycling

Bath Cycling Club – caters for a wide variety of cycling interests and a full range of ability and age

Bristol Cycling Campaign – group involved in campaigns, such as: ‘space for cycling’, ‘freedom to ride manifesto’ and ‘demand for justice’

Bristol South Cycling Club – run a number of events over the year for club members

Bristol Thursday Old Time Cyclists – a group of mostly (but not all) retired men and women with a shared passion for cycling

Clevedon and District Road Club – have Sunday runs starting from Clevedon Triangle all year

Colliers Way Cycling Club – encourages leisure cycling in the Radstock and Midsomer Norton areas of North East Somerset

Cycle Bag East - is a Touring Cycle Club based in Fishponds. Regular fortnightly rides from 30 – 60 miles

Cycle Bath – casual rides involving beautiful scenery, cake, sometimes beer, and always great company

Cycle Bristol CTC - organised cycle rides every weekend all year round

CycleOut Bristol – cycling group for LGBT people and friends in Bristol and the surrounding area, with regular cycle rides and social events

North Bristol Cycling Club – friendly and laid-back road cycling group, who enjoy cycling with others who share their passion

Somer Valley Cycle Club – most Sunday mornings, group members gather outside Bike-It in Radstock to cycle at a gentle pace for between 30 and 60 miles

Stokes Cycling Club - cycling group for people and families to enjoy organised rides in and around Bradley Stoke and beyond for pleasure and enjoyment

Timsbury Cycle Group – group for cyclists in and around Timsbury, Bath and North East Somerset, with regular weekly rides for fun and to get fit


Mountain biking, BMX and Cyclo-cross

Find like-minded people for stunts and mountain biking fun.

Bristol BMX Club – running since the early 80′s with a track in Patchway, Bristol

Bristol Mountain Bike Club – club for mountain bike riders in and around Bristol, plus friends around the UK and overseas

Bristol Trails Group - group that helps to maintain and enjoys the trail network

Cyclo-cross - The Western League series caters for cyclo-cross racers in and around Bristol – races are great fun, short events, over easy off-road terrain

North Bristol Mountain Biking Club – friendly and laid-back road cycling group, who enjoy cycling with others who share their passion

The Cheesy Riders - group of Bristol-based mountain bikers (and now very much roadies) just enjoying the world on two tyres


Road racing

For serious enthusiasts – sports rides with an emphasis on speed and distance.

Bath Cycling Club – caters for a wide variety of cycling interests and a full range of ability and age

Bristol Development Squad – supporting people who want to develop themselves into better cyclists of all standards and across all disciplines

Bristol and District Triathletes - a triathlon club founded to serve multi-sport athletes of all abilities in the greater Bristol area

Bristol Road Club – road racing club founded in 1927

Severn Road Club – founded in 1932, membership is largely from the north of Bristol and South Gloucestershire, but members are welcome from all over

Sodbury Cycle Sport – amateur cycling club operating in the Yate/Chipping Sodbury area of South Gloucestershire

Sommer Valley Road Club – most Sunday mornings, group members gather outside Bike-It in Radstock to cycle at a gentle pace for between 30 and 60 miles

Velo Club Walcot – based in Bath, friendly group rides are organised in the glorious West Country hills surrounding the city

Weston Wheelers – small, friendly club formed in 1933 in Weston-Super-Mare. Everyone welcome, whether they’re a leisure cyclist or a competitive rider
