Bristol and South Gloucestershire councils are leading on the Cycling City project, working with Bath & North East Somerset and North Somerset councils to promote cycling across the region.
Bristol City Council are making a commitment to remove broken glass within 24 hours. The press release states:
If you see broken glass on the footway or highway or cycleway you can help prevent an accident by calling the highway defects report line on 0117 922 2100 from 8.30 am to 8 pm Monday to Friday. Bristol City Council is committed to ensuring broken glass is cleared within 24 hours.
Councillor Jon Rogers, Executive Member for Transport and Sustainability, said: "Cyclists and pedestrians in particular find broken glass a menace. A small investment from last year's budget has allowed us to introduce this simple service."
The Report a Problem page should have all the information you need to help improve the situation for all cyclists by taking action when you notice a problem in any of the four authorities in the area.
