Report a problem on a cycle route

If you've spotted a problem on a cycle route such as poor surfacing, overgrown hedges, potholes or debris on the highway please visit the CTC's Fill That Hole website.

By filling in the form your email will go directly to the local authority responsible for correcting the problem.

Where there is a case of obstruction or dangerous driving then contact the police on the number below. 

If there is restricted parking (yellow lines, pay-and-display, limited waiting) in addition to the bike lane then report it to the council parking services as below.

Bristol

Pot holes and poor surfaces

You can submit a Street Fault online. However if the fault is urgent then you should use the phone to report a problem, contact Bristol City Council on 0117 922 2100 (from 8.30 am to 8 pm Monday to Friday, choose option 3).

Use this number to report glass on the footway or highway or cycleway and it should be cleared within 24 hours. To receive an update on your call, quote your postcode to the operator.

Suggest an improvement

If you want to suggest an improvement you can log it at Bristol Streets or email traffic.management@bristol.gov.uk

Illegal parking

To report illegally parked cars you can contact Parking Services on 0117 922 2198 or parking.services@bristol.gov.uk. If there is obstruction then see the police link below, or the BCC Civil Enforcement Officers on 0117 903 8070.  You can also record things on the website bristol.mybikelane.com.

Abandoned bicycles

To report an abandoned bicycle contact 0117 92 22100 and choose option 5.

If you have a suggestion about cycling infrastructure in Bristol you can log it on www.bristolstreets.co.uk. This website is checked periodically by Bristol City Council's walking and cycling team.

South Gloucestershire

To report a problem directly to South Gloucestershire Council visit the following problem report pages: defective highways structures or public rights of way.

To report a problem directly to North Somerset Council, visit the problem reporting page on their website or call 01934 888 888 (lines open Mon-Thurs from 8.45am-5pm and Fri, 8.45am-4.30pm)

Bath and North East Somerset

To report a problem to Bath and North East Somerset Council, visit the road report page on their website or call 01225 39 40 41.
