Police urge vigilance after recent bike thefts
As reported in Bristol Evening Post, Avon and Somerset Police are warning workers in Temple Quay business area to beware of thieves after 16 bikes have been stolen in the last three months.
Beat manager, PC Nick King, said: "This is the highest recorded crime [spate] since Temple Quay opened. There have been 32 reported bikes stolen in Redcliffe between July and October 1, of which 16 were stolen on the Temple Quay site, many of which are taken during office hours.
"Most of the bikes have been stolen from cycle racks. Working with on-site security, we have made a number of arrests and recovered bicycles.
"We will continue to carry out plain-clothed observations in the area, but appeal to anyone leaving their bicycle at Temple Quay to make sure they are secure, with substantial chains or solid D bars."
