Lower speed limits, a new cycle bridge, a great discount on puncture proof tyres, plus lots more!

November 2010

Finding it harder to wake up in these dark mornings? A refreshing ride in the morning air certainly awakens the senses! It'll get darker in the evenings from Sunday though. The clocks go back so remember to light up on your way home from work.

Here's the latest cycling news from Bristol and South Gloucestershire:

Saddle up and chase those pumpkins

Sunday 31 October sees a special Halloween themed treasure hunt taking place on Bristol-Bath Railway Path. Grab your best boneshaker and wheel on down for the Giant Pumpkin Chase.

Bridge over tricky water crossing

Earlier this month work started on a new 44m long crossing in Lockleaze. Residents have named the crossing 'Brook Bridge'. Due for completion by February, it's set to bring together two halves of Bristol's soon-to-be-renamed 'Northern Route'.

Hit the brakes!

Car drivers are being asked to slow down in Montpelier, St Pauls, St Werburghs, Easton, Eastville, Lawrence Hill, St George West and Barton Hill after a new 20mph speed limit came into effect, making the streets safer for cyclists and pedestrians.
