Bristol and South Gloucestershire councils are leading on the Cycling City project, working with Bath & North East Somerset and North Somerset councils to promote cycling across the region.
Today the latest Cycling City banner was installed on the approach roundabout to UWE's campus on the A4174. It's part of ongoing work that both councils are doing with major employers across Bristol.
The banner was organised in conjunction with Steve Ward, Travel Planner at UWE.
It's designed to help promote cycling to students and staff, telling them that it's quite easy to cycle from the centre of Bristol to UWE.
"It's takes about 15 minutes so it really isn't as far as people would think," said Darren, South Gloucestershire's Smarter Travel Choices representative.
Representatives in Bristol and South Gloucestershire can work with any business to help promote cycling. In many cases, grants are available to install parking facilities or lockers, or just to simply run cycling events in the workplace. Visit our Employers pages to find out more.
