Bristol and South Gloucestershire councils are leading on the Cycling City project, working with Bath & North East Somerset and North Somerset councils to promote cycling across the region.
Run by Life Cycle UK, 'Know Your Bike' courses are specially designed for beginners who have little or no mechanical knowledge or experience. The courses provide a gentle introduction to cycle maintenance. They explain how a bike works, how to set it up for maximum ease of use and comfort, how to check it over and to carry out a range of simple maintenance tasks. The course includes a free book 'Bike Easy: top tips and expert advice for the new cyclist (worth £6.50) and multi-tool (worth £3.50).
Cost £10 (for Bristol residents), £40 for others.
Length - 2 sessions each of 2.5 hours on the 9th and 23rd February (NOT half term week!)
