Employers Gear Up

Business man with bikeCommuting journeys are one of the most frequent that people in and around Bristol make. Cycling City wants to work with businesses to help double the numbers of cyclists in Bristol and South Gloucestershire.

Through the Gear Up project Cycling City is helping businesses to get their employees cycling. This includes:

  • giving grants for cycling related facilities such as stands and lockers
  • workplace cycle promotions
  • on-site events such as bike-to-work breakfasts and maintenance sessions
  • reduced cost cycle training for employees
  • loan bikes for people thinking about starting cycling (through their employers)
  • help setting up a Bicycle User Group (BUG) or network of workplace cycle champions
  • free maps and cycle information

If you want to nominate your employer for the Gear Up project, either:

  • contact Cycling City on 0117 903 6815 and tell us who we should speak to
  • or download the Gear Up pack and read more about the promotion of cycling in your workplace.
