Bristol and South Gloucestershire councils are leading on the Cycling City project, working with Bath & North East Somerset and North Somerset councils to promote cycling across the region.
On Saturday 2 October 2010, Easton Community Centre celebrates its 20th birthday with a fun day at Owen Square, Easton, Bristol. This free event, which runs from 12 Noon to 5pm will showcase the many groups who use the Centre. Activities will include dance, music, face painting and a bouncy castle.
Because of the Centres close proximity to the Railway Path, there will be a strong cycling theme. Cycling activities will include Rinky Dink (pedal-powered sound system), Les Velobicis (cycle ballet group), bicycle smoothie maker, pimp your bike workshops and Dr Bike. The Cycling City advisers will be present to engage with the local community to tell them about the cycling resources in their area as well as those across the whole city.
The event has been supported with a Cycling City small events grant.
