Want to do you part for Cycling City? There are some very easy things you can do to help.

Tell others about this project
Email five of your family, friends or colleagues and tell them about Cycling City's new website and all the good reasons to start cycling. Head over to the Get Cycling page, copy and paste the first two paragraphs and send it on to five people, asking each of them to check out the site and to send it on to another five people.

Downloads and postcards
Download, print and stick up our Cycling City posters and images wherever you can. We've got loads of Cycling City postcards available from the reception in Brunel House. Call in, pick up a pile and leave them in shops, schools, pubs, restaurants and anywhere else! These postcards are also available as desktop backgrounds on the Downloads page.

Media
Encourage the local media to support the work we're doing. Write letters to magazines and newspapers encouraging them to run articles about cycling. We can provide them with all the information they need but we can't control editorial decisions - only their readers can. If you have an idea for an article, write to your local newspaper, magazine or TV station and encourage them to feature cycling more often.

Talks
Do you know of a group that might like a talk on cyclng and the Cycling City project? We're happy to come and share the news about why everyone is talking about cycling, and what Cycling City is doing. We find a short talk followed by a longer discussion usually stimulates interesting debate. We'll bring along lots of handouts and freebies as well.

"On yer bike"
And of course, the most important thing you can do is to make more journeys by bike - and encourage others to do so as well. Remember, the more people cycling the better it is for everyone, including you.

If you have any other quick and simple ideas to help promote cycling drop us a line at cycling.city@bristol.gov.uk and share your idea! If you'd like to get more involved in shaping the cycle provision in your area find out about your next Bike Forum on our website.
