Cycling with children

Many adults look back on their childhood cycling adventures with fond memories. The freedom, the speed and the excitement - it's a liberating feeling.

Teaching a child to ride a bike can make an invaluable contribution to their health and fitness. Children usually begin to cycle between the ages of four and seven years old.

For children younger than four years old, child seats and trailers allow parents to transport their children by bike.

One to one tuition

If you want extra training in how to cycle safely with children, Life Cycle instructors can give you tips and advice to make journeys safe and fun. Through Greater Bristol's Cycling City award, Life Cycle are able to offer these one-off courses for £5 (a £25 saving on the regular price).

Holiday courses

Bristol

Life Cycle also runs Bikeability courses during the holidays for 8 -11 year olds.  Aimed at children who can already ride a bike, these fun level one and two courses will help them learn the skills they need to begin making journeys by bike, and give you added peace of mind when out on the road with children.
