Bristol and South Gloucestershire councils are leading on the Cycling City project, working with Bath & North East Somerset and North Somerset councils to promote cycling across the region.
This Saturday (13th February), The Cube cinema in Bristol is joining in with the city's 'Year of the Bike' festivities by showing two cycling films and hosting a cycle powered party.
Back by popular demand, Veer - a documentary about bike culture in Portland, USA - will be shown, followed by the legendary Les Velobicis. Veer features the eclectic and exciting cycling culture in Portland, with "zoo-bombers", tall bikes, bike jousting, cycle chariot racing and a synchronised mini-bike dance team all making an appearance.
Elsewhere in the evening the revamped B-bike-a-Lula will make an appearance, with surprise guests (live and pedal powered!) and guests will be able to relive their youth by playing on the bicycle-powered Scalextrix from the Bristol Bike Project.
To quote the line on the Cube's website: "Celebrate the bicycle renaissance. La bici e libera! Let's make Bristol a bicycle powered city and have a b-bike-a-lula all year long."
