City Centre layout changes

What to do wtih traffic in the centre of Bristol is a complicated problem, but many people see it as something that's fundamental to Bristol becoming a true Cycling City.

Any cross-city route you enter in our cycle trip planner shows how tricky it is to navigate the centre by road, and look at bristolstreets.org.uk shows there's no shortage of suggestions for tackling this problem.

A route from Baldwin Street to Castle Park is being considered for Cycling City's 2010/11  infrastructure programme, but this leaves the question of the Triangle, Park Street, St Augustine's Reach, Lewins Mead and Union Street, let alone Temple Gate.

Cycling City funding can't solve all these problems it may well pave the way for infrastructure projects in the coming years.

There's an interesting consultation on Ask Bristol at the moment, based on some radical ideas for the centre. How might cycling fit into this vision?

Join the discussion there but if you've got any thoughts we'd love to hear them here as well.
