Bristol and South Gloucestershire councils are leading on the Cycling City project, working with Bath & North East Somerset and North Somerset councils to promote cycling across the region.
Work to create a completely off-road route around Bristol's historic harbourside moved a step closer during June (2011) as construction of the Brunel Lock link finished.
The path takes bike riders and walkers from Ashton Avenue Bridge (halfway along Festival Way) araound the Create Centre to Brunel's historic lock gates at the entrance to Bristol harbour.
From here riders can cross the river to access the cycle lane along the Portway. This lane either runs north to Avonmouth or south to the harbourside and into Bristol city centre.
Check it out for one of the best views in the city of Clifton Suspension Bridge! You'll find the route marked out on our Google Maps page.
