Bristol and South Gloucestershire councils are leading on the Cycling City project, working with Bath & North East Somerset and North Somerset councils to promote cycling across the region.
ACT TravelWise is organising a training course in Bristol called Achieving Behaviour Change through Social Marketing on Tuesday, 18th May 2010, Bristol.
The course introduces delegates to the successful tools and strategies needed to deploy an effective marketing campaign to achieve travel behaviour change.
It has been developed as the second stage of training for delegates who have completed the 'Introduction to Travel Planning'. It is also suitable for delegates who have not taken the introductory course, but assumes that delegates will have both knowledge and experience of the theory and practice of travel planning and related travel behavioural change roles.
It is developed as a one-day workshop of short lectures and group exercises, to reinforce the theoretical basis gained from completion of about 10 hours or pre-study.
It will introduce delegates to the theory and practice of social marketing, the Psychology of Behaviour change, market research, segmenting your audience, developing campaigns, and monitoring success.
The three trainers are John Porter, Cheryl Campsie and Jeremy Prince, experts from the fields of behavioural psychology, social marketing and travel planning.
Who should attend?
This course is aimed at transport professionals working which Travel Planners, Travel Awareness Officers and Transport Consultants. It is suitable for travel behaviour change professionals from both the public and private sectors at employers including businesses, universities, NHS trusts, and local authorities.
