Bristol and South Gloucestershire Councils are leading on the Cycle City Project, working with Bath & North East Somerset and North Somerset to promote cycling across the region.
Russell Howard - one of Bristol's best known comedians, and regular on BBC panel show 'Mock the Week' - joins a host of other celebrities to take part in a charity cycle ride between Lands End and John o'Groats.
Russell is part of a seven-person relay team raising money for The BT Sport Relief Million Pound Ride. Others taking part include Jimmy Carr, Fearne Cotton, Miranda Hart, David Walliams, Patrick Kielty and Davina McCall.
The riders will be setting off from John o'Groats and riding non-stop for 80 hours before they reach their destination at Lands End in Cornwall. Each celebrity will take turns at riding while the others cheer them on from their tour bus.
They will have to battle the through wind, rain and countless hills over four days and nights as they try to reach their massive target of £1 million raised for charity. Each celebrity will take turns cycling while the others cheer them on from the tour bus, their home for the duration of the challenge.
You can sponsor the riders at through the official Sport Relief website or keep up to date via David Walliams twitter page.
You can also watch David Walliams BBC interview on the BBC website.
A documentary about the ups and downs of their ride will be broadcast on the BBC in the run up to the Sport Relief Weekend on Friday 19th - Sunday 21st March.
A member of the Cycling City team is also riding the route (albeit from Lands End to John o'Groats). Follow the progress via the Your Stories page. If you're taking part in a cycling challenge this year, write in and tell us.
