Base Structures

Base Structures Ltd are leading tensile fabric structures contractors, based on Feeder Road in Bristol. They provide a complete service to the fabric structures industry from design and manufacturing through to installation and maintenance.

Base has been established since 2001, and currently has 57 staff members. Base encourage all staff to journey into work by bike, and currently operate the Government 'Ride to Work' scheme. Base also provides cyclists with facilities such as staff lockers, drying area, bike stands, and showers / changing facilities, as well as access to bike tools.

In a bid to encourage more staff to cycle, they also hold regular roadshows and bike events. In 2010 four seperate events were organised! Including: 

• Cycle lessons from Life Cycle UK (Janaury),
• Better By Bike Roadshow (May),
• Bike to Work day/Dr Bike/Bike Breakfast (June),
• Harbour Festival where a team of employees pedaled the renewable energy stage! (July/Aug).

The efforts of the company were recognised in the Evening Post in June and one of their employees, Jenna, cycles in from Nailsea twice a week! Their champion, Heidi Waters is always on hand to help people find out that it's 'better by bike'!
