Hello!

The summer holidays are here and parents across the land are searching for ways to entertain bored children. But don't fear, we've got the answer. Here's a clue: Two wheels, a few gears and miles and miles of traffic-free cycle paths!

Bristol Cycle Festival - programme announced!

In three weeks Bristol's big bike bonanza comes to town.

From September 11-26 the city will be awash with a cultural extravaganza of over 75 DIY events - cycle theatre, cycle tours, cycle films, cycle street games, cycle fashion, cycle talks, cycle activism, cycle-powered music and more.

All Abilities Cycling Project

Bristol's All Abilities project launched in August, providing 12 bikes for disabled children and children with special needs to hire.

Try out session are taking place at St Paul's Adventure Playground during August and September.

 

Cycling City grant helps teens saddle up for expedition

Eight young people from Lawrence Weston recently took part in a Duke of Edinburgh challenge with a difference.

A grant from Cycling City helped Lawrence Weston Youth Action (LWYA) to purchase bikes and panniers to help these eight young people - plus countless more in future - take part in activities by bike. These bikes can be booked for use by contacting LWYA.

Work starts on city signage project

Getting lost on a cycle path in Bristol and South Gloucestershire will soon be a thing of the path as work starts on a new signage project.

Malago Greenway and Festival Way are the first two routes being signed and six further routes will follow this Autumn and Winter.

Festival Way open for business

Bristol City Council has officially launched Festival Way, providing a safe route to Ashton Court - making it simple to get to events such as Bristol Balloon Fiesta by bike.

The path provides festival goers with a safe route from the city centre, along the Harbourside, past the Create Centre and underneath the A370 dual carriageway.
